Created Issue: AdventureWorksDW2012 Download file corrupt [19063]

There seams to be an issue with the AdventureWorksDW2012 Data file download. When I try to run this SQL statement:

CREATE DATABASE AdventureWorksDW2012 ON (FILENAME = 'E:\MSSQL11.SQL02\MSSQL\DATA\AdventureWorksDW2012_Data.mdf') FOR ATTACH_REBUILD_LOG;

This is the error I get:

Msg 5172, Level 16, State 15, Line 1
The header for file 'E:\MSSQL11.SQL02\MSSQL\DATA\AdventureWorksDW2012_Data.mdf' is not a valid database file header. The FILE SIZE property is incorrect.

I'm trying to install Adventureworks sample dB and i get an error.
I successfully downloaded the mdf file however when attach, add and click OK from SSMS I get the error:

Msg 5172, Level 16, State 15, Line 1
The header for file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\AdventureWorks2012_Data.mdf' is not a valid database file header. The FILE SIZE property is incorrect.

The AdventureWorks 2008R2 SR1 Installer has been removed or is no longer available here:

This appears to be the only place to download the AdventureWorks BIDS project. Can someone add the project to the downloads?

There is a gap in dates between 2008 and 2010 in the AdventureWorksDW2008R2 DimDate table. PerformancePoint Server (and Services) requires continguous dates for the Time Intelligence feature to function properly. Please ensure the records in the DimDaet table are contiguous.

The attached script will fix the problem. Use the stored procedure to extend to future dates if needed.

Is this been taken care? If so, please share the latest data for DimDate. I'm working on some POC which requires dates in between 2008 and 2010 as well. If it is not already done, can someone let me know is there is any way I can generate the data for those missing dates in that table?

It would be awesome if the sample databases could be available in Nuget for SQL Express or SQLCompact. They could be added to the App_Data directory and add a connection string to the web.config.

We have a .net app and of course it requires reporting future. Anyone uses this app is going to login and base on database roles (stored in an Oracle DB) they are able to see their screens on this App. Let’s say they are four groups of people that using this app and each group have its own rights. There are 10 reports they need to access but each group can see all or some of them again base on their role.
Can I create a dynamic report page that contains the link to their reports base on userID? So I have only one main page with links to the proper reports!

Hi, I am working on a Report Services project and I just need to be able to check if a directory (based on user and it’s LDAP group) exist or not. I have used T-SQL, used VB.NET code inside report properties and also used C# class library and none worked.

All will return 0 or false. I will be happy to provide code for each one of these if needed.

Any help greatly appreciated

I downloaded AdventureWorks2008R2, but I cannot get the file to excecute on my laptop. I keep getting this fatal error:

Failed object intialization (ISupportInitalize.EndInit). Property FilestreamLevel is not available for Server "[JERMAINESNIPE]'. This property may not exist for this object, or may not be retrievable due to insufficient access right. Error at object "DatabaseSelection' in markup file 'DatabaseInstaller;component/databaseselection.xaml' Line 78 Position 3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where can I find the Northwind database for SqlServer 2008?

Where can I find the AdventureWorks2008 (similiar to AdventureWorks but the schema is a bit different) database? AdventureWorks2008R2_RTM.exe does not include it.

I downloaded the BSP for Beagleboard. Opening the .sln file in MS Visual studio, I tried to build the solution which yields NK.bin file in "Rel" directory. I copied this file to SD card to make the beagleboard to boot in WINCE. This is not successful. What else files required to boot ? If needed from where I can find those files? Is there any setting required to be done in Visual Studio.

The database schema for the AdventureWorks2008 (SQL Server 2008) is noticeably different from the schema for AdventureWorks (SQL Server 2005). There are 9 new tables in AdventureWorks2008 (BusinessEntity, BusinessEntityAddress, BusinessEntityContact, EmailAddress, Password, Person, PersonPhone, PhoneNumberType, and PersonCreditCard), and 6 tables have been eliminated (EmployeeAddress, VendorAddress, VendorContact, CustomerAddress, Individual, and StoreContact).

While a data dictionary exists for AdventureWorks, Microsoft has indicated that there are currently no plans to update it for AdventureWorks2008.

Given the significance of the changes between AdventureWorks and AdventureWorks2008, I would greatly appreciate having Microsoft update the data dictionary for AdventureWorks2008 (especially for us database novices). Thank you.

The data dictionary is diffinantly needed. We are using the AdventureWorks 2008 for a class I am taking at the U of W and without the data dictionary it is making it difficult to do our assignments.

2. Do every step by default until installation completed.
3. Check the user Views of AdventureWorksDW.

Expectation:

There should be 6 user views in AdventureWorksDW.

Actual Result:
===============
There is no user view in AdventureWorksDW.

It only reproduce on DEU environment: OS(DEU) + Katmai(DEU)

Verified on latest Sample Build 90828, still repro
